Classic copper blondes and softer auburns create a wonderfully warm finish which flatters many complexions. Brighter warm highlights or deeper mahogany and copper colours work beautifully over darker brunettes.

Lighter Natural Base Colour:

If your natural colour is between level 5-10, you have a range of softer or brighter copper, auburn and mahogany options if you are looking to add warmth.

If you want to embrace classically beautiful, eye-catching copper blonde tones, then Palermo is the colour for you.

Palermo has a dark blonde base colour and bright warm copper tones. It works particularly well with fair, cool complexions.

Palermo is a stunning colour which can also be blended with a lighter or darker neutral, creating a softer colour with half-strength copper tones. Blending a copper colour with a neutral creates an elegant, softer auburn colour. Blending a warm colour with a neutral will also ensure an even, consistent colour result over greys, as the neutral colour fills pigments missing from greys.

Trieste has a light brown base colour blended with copper tones. It has a deeper, rich auburn finish and will look brighter in natural light.

If you wanted softer tones blend either Trieste or Palermo with a neutral, for just a hint of copper. Blending a neutral with a warm based colour will improve grey coverage and leave a very natural finish.

Darker Natural Base Colour:

Deeper skin tones can also look amazing with deeper copper or mahogany tones. A copper or mahogany colour is achievable at almost all darker colour levels.

Try mahogany babylights or foilyage for a vibrant finish with beautiful tones, anchored by your naturally darker base colour. Adding a mahogany or copper tones to highlights will break up your colour, and add dimension and shine. Use Milano blended with our 5 vol developer to add rich, semi-permanent mahogany tones to your highlights or balayage.

Use our Highlights Kit to add a few or a lot of highlights, or some soft foilyage (balayage applied with foils) in your lengths. The lighter pieces are then toned or coloured with a semi-permanent colour, to complete your look.

A deeper copper brown, such as our Portofino Copper Golden Brown will work best over a dark to darkest brown natural colour. It can be used for a highlights over black to mid-brown colours too. Adding brighter rich warm highlights will transform the darkest black or browns, leaving a multi-dimensional vibrant finish.

Portofino Copper Golden Brown has a blend of warm, sophisticated copper and golden tones within a mid brown base. It is a wonderfully warm, elegant shade which can suit a range of complexions. With hints of old world Hollywood style glamour together with a modernised, flattering finish, Portofino is a beautiful copper brunette colour option.
