That’s exactly the kind of question a great mum would ask, so well done for being a fab mum already!
Firstly, congratulations on your amazing new creation!
Good news – studies to date show there isn’t any reason to stop colouring your hair during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
Whilst some of the chemicals that regular hair colour companies use can be toxic, that is only the case if you are exposed to high quantities of these chemicals, in much higher quantities than are found in hair colour kits.
A sensible approach is to avoid exposure to chemicals which can be irritating such as ammonia. PPD is also a key ingredient to avoid as well. Researchers in the UK investigating the link between hair colour and breast cancer have specifically recommended reducing your exposure to PPD.
A good approach is to use hair colour which is free from some harsh chemicals which have been superseded by gentler, kinder ingredients.
The Shade’s permanent hair colour range is made without unnecessary chemicals such as ammonia, PPD, parabens and phthalates. Our colour is also blended with Argan oil, Aloe Vera and Ginseng root extract to support hair and scalp health and condition.
Absolutely loved my kit & colour! The packaging is beautiful, and I loved the quality of the tools. No nasty surprises with the colour, and it turned out exactly how I wanted. I am going to be experimenting with other shades too 😊 I love how I can use this product with confidence as a breastfeeding mother, as the ingredients are free from nasties. Not only do I get a lovely colour, I get a hair treatment too! My hair is so soft, smooth, shiny and healthy. 💜
